Specification of Sodium Trisphosphate STPP (Tech Grade)
One of the chewing materials that can be eaten is STTP or STPP. Unlike borax which is prohibited from being used for food, STPP is indeed used for food. STPP that we know is commonly used as a meatball thickener, but actually STTP is used as a preservative for seafood, meat, and other animal meats, or in the food industry it has another name and code E number E451. In food, STTP is also used as an emulsifier.
In detergents, softeners are used, due to the presence of TPP5- ions as a chelating agent which can chelate Mg2+ and Ca2+ in hard water. Other uses include the ceramic industry, the fabric industry, anti-corrosion pigments, anti-caking agents and also in the pharmaceutical industry
